The hot humid weather is finally going to break... But now there's wildfire smoke coming in. The weather this summer has been so disappointing...hot, muggy, rain, smoke... MOSQUITOS!

And chocolate mirror glaze. The cone was made from pie crust and dipped in royal icing, with black sugar to represent asphalt. All in all a wonderful day! It was great to see so many familiar faces I've competed with in the past.

The winners were savory beet and apple pie with herbed goat cheese and a hot water crust pastry, and my construction cone theme pie (their category!) was a cookie crust, w/layered triple orange moose, vanilla mousse
