May 30 is the last day of work for EPPD Officer Rob Geis after 31 years at the department. Known around the community as “Officer Rob”, he has served in the EP Schools as a juvenile liaison officer since 2004.

This morning EPPD officers visited Eden Prairie High School to hand out candy bars to EPHS students they “caught” wearing seatbelts on their way to school. The officers handed out more than 360 candy bars to students wearing seat belts.

This Fri. 5/16 from 7a – 11a, the Dunkin’ Donuts in Chaska (710 N. Chestnut Street) will be hosting Dunkin’ Cop on a Rooftop to raise money for Special Olympics Minnesota. Donations to Special Olympics Minnesota will result in a coupon for a free donut or coffee!

Last Thurs., EPPD Officer Chad Streiff received a Gold Medallion award from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). The Award is given to officers who made more than 100 DWI arrests the previous year.

EPPD is currently recruiting police cadets. Cadets will work a flexible part-time schedule at EPPD, while attending school. Duration of assignment is 2–4 years, depending on education sought.

Just before 3 a.m. on Monday, an EPPD officer was on routine patrol near I-494 when he noticed a car race by him at a high rate of speed. He checked his Lidar unit which clocked the vehicle at 120 mph.
