This book is rather painful to get thru, and as a result took me over a month to finish, and only to end mid sentence incomplete forever.

And I love it, it is one of my favorite books ever. Somehow this abrupt ending is just perfect.

People make fun of game genres and act like others mediums do this much better, but never do any better in providing alternatives. Also it's not like this doesn't happen in other mediums when it's common to refer to stories as lovecraftian or kafkaesque lol.

These are complex ideas to define succinctly so like replacing metroidvania with "search action" doesn't come with the connotation that it needs. Also to me it sounds boring and sauceless in comparison.

Like yeah most are bad terms read literally like CRPG, JRPG, or soulslike, but they inform a lot about the games they're talking about.

Been thinking about game genres lately and how people love to complain about them. But I feel like they're over blown like the goal of game genres is very different that of other mediums.

They aim to tell how a person will engage with the game thru mechanics over the narrative or style of the game.

Microsoft is cutting access to SOME Azure cloud services to a unit of the IDF, found to be using those services for survailance and tracking of Palestinians.

This stupid ass planet spends like 12 out 24 months completely frozen over. So it's residents instead of looking elsewhere just built large hibernation pyramids out of their colony ships and named the planet.

So cool and also stupid I love it.

Finished the first Eisenhorn book Xenos.

It's pretty cool. The story and characters are solid but not the huge selling point for me.

That part is the worldbuilding. Each planet visited feels so distinct and vivid. Then theres how the warp interacts with all that with the Saruthi, just chefs kiss.
