Yes! I prefer a corner because you get dimension and some perspective opposed to single wall! And a corner is easier to manage than thinking about a whole room if you’re building something for a screenshot!

That's so true!!!! Being able to see more than just the polished, finished product is always such a treat

and plan for a CORNER LMAO!! START SMALL!!!!!! a well set dressed and lived in space is better than a huge one that feels empty

Yep document everything when starts off at its worse up to when it’s perfect and polished. Doesn’t matter how simple the task was have some record to point back to even for your own memory cos it’s all relevant at some point and should be part of your portfolio.

Make something that you're passionate about, or base it off a reference photo that you think looks awesome! But most of all, USE REFERENCE. Blend multiple references if you want, make a inspo board and have it ready to talk about if asked about it.

My biggest piece of advice for someone who is looking to get INTO the games industry ( from the pov of an env artist ) is to make a beautiful corner!! Even if you want to specialize, learning how the pipeline works and knowing how every part of it works together will only make you stronger!!

I write this as someone who Big Regrets not taking more screenshots because of imposter syndrome when I started out in the industry. That was so stupid LMAOOO

Especially if you're acting as a generalist in your first gig. All these skills are important and are worthy of showing off. YOU GOT THIS!!
