Tbh, I keep expecting this to be controversial and then everyone I speak to kind of just agrees with me

Ironclad, Silent and Defect are feeling fairly balanced at the moment (although Silent's discard build seems a little too powerful, and Ironclad's vulnerability build feels like it needs a little support) but that's bc they've had 10 years to think about those changes

I also think that the new characters can be broken in very obvious ways and definitely have some major nerfs coming for them, but that's not particularly surprising

Some of this stuff I'm not certain if it's just bc I'm extremely used to the visual style of the first one though - I have several hundred hours in sts1 so any differences are going to be very obvious

The original had pretty high contrast backgrounds that made stuff stand out a lot more, strikes and defends were fairly similar between characters, and there's some other stuff that I can't quite put into words about it that makes it just slightly harder to comprehend what's happening

My actualy maim (and possibly controversial thought) is that, much as I like the new art style, I think it's slightly harder for me to parse things than the original game was
