Every time I see either of these men:

One thing I've learned from this by-election is that everywhere is like Manchester and Labour should remember that.

If I say gym I’ll sound like a prick. But it’s what would have been a scullery with a tiled floor and… gym equipment

Writing books, living by the sea, all good (apart from dog’s terminal cancer diagnosis πŸ‘Ž)

It also means that room no longer feels like a thoroughfare. We can sit in a chair in front of it and feel enclosed in a comfortable nook. When it had the door there it would have felt weird to sit there. So it makes more space for books but also for us. Magic!

Ben! Hello!! How are you?!

24.02.2026 20:04 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

There’s also space between it and the door behind to hide, so we have had fun doing shit vanishing lady magic tricks with the kids.

As requested, here’s the secret door in action! It’s hard to film one handed, but I did my best. It leads through to another room and we kept the door for warmth. Really the back should be painted green too, but it took @alexmilway.bsky.social long enough to do the rest of it! Maybe one day…

I don’t have a recent picture of it in action. But you pull on ”Tales of Mystery” by Poe to open it.

It’s not only depressing and gloomy, it makes most peopleβ€˜s skin look ashen too. So you’re picking a colour that will make you look wan and sad any time you catch sight of yourself. I can’t imagine choosing to live in a space like this. Then again, I am writing this in this room:

Hate-filled fake videos about London are everywhere. We've obtained a recording of a TikToker confessing to secretly filming Londoners in their homes for clicks.

He says it's not political. He just wants to make money from far-right anger.

Read what he says: www.londoncentric.media/p/london-tik...

This is like watching my youngest as a preschooler denying she wrote her own name on the skirting board

I do keep thinking about joining a choir but I’ve tried a few and discovered I’m quite fussy about what sort of thing I want to do (no jiggling about for me).

My daughter has spent the past few years being paid as a church chorister. It’s meant I’ve spent a lot of time in church of late (it’s C of E so they don’t really mind if you don’t believe). It’s been a real reminder of what many of us have lost. Not just the loss of community, but also the ritual
