05.03.2026 18:11 β π 8013 π 2447 π¬ 275 π 133Dear Shabana, I notice today that you referred to me in your speech on immigration at the IPPR think tank. You said: βA party leader should not be on the beaches of France encouraging people to make a perilous crossing on small boats.β I suppose I shouldnβt be surprised especially after the hateful Labour campaign in Gorton and Denton, but this is just the latest in a string of lies peddled by a discredited Government who intentionally fan the flames of racism and division. When I went to Calais, I was not there to encourage people to travel to the UK. I was there to see at first hand the suffering your Government and successive Governments have done in demonising migrants in a pathetic bid to pander to the base instincts of Reform and the flawed strategy of Morgan McSweeney. As you will know, if you even bothered to research my visit instead of taking Reform talking points, I was there to witness the brutality of families living in tents in freezing temperatures. I filled water tanks and picked up litter. What that visit did do is confirm my belief that if we are to smash the boat gangs and stop the boats, we need to offer safer and managed routes for migrants to come to this country. Showing compassion as a politician is not a crime. In fact, we need to see much more of it. It reminded me of a young MP who in October 2015 spent three days in Lesbos helping migrants fleeing war-torn Syria. She posted videos on X, talked about handing out water and croissants to refugees and food parcels. When she returned to the UK, she wrote a very moving piece in the New Statesman. She said βwe have to work with our European partners and create new, safe, and legal routes for refugees to get to Europe. We cannot abandon them to their fate, left as prey for smugglers whilst risking death on the seas.β She said βmaybe we can make ourselves feel better by saying no-one is making them get on the boats. And again, the Home Secretary is not entirely wrong when β¦
Dear Shabana,
Let's clear some things up around migration and remember we're talking about people's lives.
Badenoch corrected Nick Robinson, saying the βorcsβ and βgoonsβ she was referring to were in Tolkien.
Of course we all remember the famous goons of Goondor, donβt we?
Didnβt she say she never has to apologise because she never makes a mistake?
And not only that but MISREAD it.

Migration is part of what makes this country great.
We're not an island of strangers - we're an island of neighbours.
The Green Party will always support fair & managed migration.

The local elections are in 2 months and Reform UK are begging people to stand.
Recruitment must be going poorly, theyβve probably realised they donβt have enough former Tories to fill their candidate list.
If itβs true Reform UKβs Treasury spokesperson Robert Jenrick told a business audience last night that renewable companies are "screwed" if Reform get in, it tells you everything about their readiness to inflict national self-harm in pursuit of ideological war on climate action.

Starmerβs critics say he is imperiling the UKβs special relationship with the US...

Good piece. Decriminalisation makes sense, it's backed by evidence and isn't the same as legalization.
That it is often claimed the greens are in favour of legalization shows how deeply unserious and petty UK politics is.

The choice is stark. Reform are the party of foreign wars and high bills.
The Greens want de-escalation and energy security through renewables. Solar and wind prices don't fluctuate when rogue US presidents launch illegal bombing campaigns.
Reform are not the Opposition. They have had fewer MPs elected than the Green Party, which had five elected under their banner in this Parliament alone.
STOP. MAINSTREAMING. REFORM.
If the BBC had given them coverage proportional to their actual significance, we would barely know who Farage is.
Hell of a legacy youβre building there, dummy. It doesnβt matter how many times you plaster your name on buildings and ballrooms in tacky gold letters. Your grave will be one big beautiful public urinal.
