On the flip-side, I have an Animaniacs, Biker Mice from Mars, and Beauty and the Beast crossover where the Warners teaching Beast manners results in antics that end in him being a chubby diapered tantruming loser, while the Biker Mice are fighting goons riding motorcyles across walls in my brain.

... maybe my brain has rotted a little bit too much. Last night's dream was such a depraved blend of the different aspects of my personality that I wonder what I did to trigger it.

I won't be playing Machinist on my alt, but I do appreciated the solidarity. This is only a complaint for my main. lol

Maybe it's time to enter my selfish arc and main Machinist. Squeenix may never buff my damage, but at least nobody would be able to cry that I didn't raise them fast enough or blame me for the wipe.

I don't want to stop playing Red Mage. I love the cadence of its skills, I love the aesthetic of its spells, I love watching my big dumb Roe do his stylish backflips while not wearing pants. But I'm growing increasingly annoyed at how entitled other people feel towards my MP bar when they die.

Why should it be a DPS-class's expectation to drop everything to raise the healer, even if I -just popped my entire offensive CD suite for a burst window- when literally no other DPS is put in that position? If i was playing black mage, the party would just accept the wipe and go again.

And I know for a fact that people didn't gravitate to the stylish spell-blade class that combines magical casting and melee combos just to dump a quarter of their MP every single time someone messes up. Or to get chewed out for not getting someone off the ground and potentially blamed for the wipe.

A button that has the potential to never be pressed a single time is being used as a reason to keep my favorite job's overall potential to perform in its ASSIGNED ROLE comparatively weak. It relegates a DPS to an entirely different job altogether. "Cleaning Up Other Peoples' Mistakes."

What about the flip scenario? What if NOBODY went down during the entire encounter? Everybody knew the fight, did the mechanics, and it was overall boring but efficient for all. Ver-Raise would have done nothing. I could have been a different DPS and contributed to a much faster boss clear.

But did the people who got pocked-Rez'd learn the fight or anything about their own role? Did the healers learn how to heal while staying alive? Or did we brute force a win because -I- knew the fight and as long as I kept one tank and one healer up, the boss literally couldn't wipe us.

My previous trial roulette is a great example. I had to raise people no fewer than eight times, including the healers. For the party, that probably felt very impactful, clutch even. For any part without a red mage, that was a wipe and a restart four times over. Ver-raise MUST be so good then!
