Congress passed the Taft-Hartley Act in 1947 (over Truman's veto) to make general strikes so incredibly difficult to organize that there hasn't been one since.

That there is a general strike happening in a major US city on such short notice is nothing short of a miracle.

I can’t believe that UNL would need to cut four dept and merge other programs just to save 27M! Their operating budget is a billion dollars. They could have just asked every dept/office/program to cut 2.7%!

I was on a zoom call where an LLM trained on ChatGPT4 accepted an arithmetic error. It was a sum of 4 numbers. Correct answer was 60, and it accepted an answer of 61. πŸ™ƒ
