Just a Cat

Chuuya’s eyebrow twitches, arms crossed and one finger tapping on his arm. /Fucking knew it/, he thinks, his headache already beginning to bloom.

“Are you deaf?”

“No,” the brunet answers with a smile. “Are you single?”

It’s going to be a /long/ evening for Chuuya…

He may not know this man but every instinct in Chuuya’s body is telling him he’s trouble and a /huge/ headache, and that it’s just not worth it. One night stands are a weekend thing and today is /Wednesday/.

“I see,” the man hums, pleased, and sits down.

It isn’t.

There are also /other/ seats that aren’t taken and have their own empty tables.

But Chuuya doesn’t say that. Instead, he glances at the stranger’s hand on the chair, then back up at his face again, and—

“It is,” he says without a shade of hesitation.

He definitely isn’t amused by the smug tone of his voice as the stranger places on hand on the chair opposite to Chuuya and asks, never breaking eye-contact:

“Is this seat taken?”

He isn’t amused by the man’s handsome features. He isn’t amused by the mischief in dark eyes, or by the most pretentious smirk known to mankind.

And Chuuya.

Chuuya really, truly, honest to every deity out there, just wanted to enjoy one or two glasses of wine before going home. In peace. /Alone./

So when a shadow slightly obscures the bar’s lights, making him look up…he isn’t amused. Not in the slightest.

The bar isn’t empty but it also isn’t crowded. Finding a place to sit by himself isn’t easy but it’s also not impossible—and that’s when Dazai’s eyes lock in on the ridiculously handsome (and visibly tired) man sitting in the corner.

He doesn’t know what changed, why he suddenly feels like a change of environment would do him good, but he’s already here, so he may as well get a drink before going home.

Mind you, skk don’t know each other here. They don’t work together, nor do they frequent the same establishments. Today is the first exception to that rule.

Dazai walks into a bar he’s passed by many times before but never gave it a try until now.
