A great name for a dog would be Handstand.
Because then people would say, "Oh, can he do a handstand?"
And you can say, "What? No. Of course not. He's a dog." And look at them like they're nuts.
Just a wonderful time.

C'mon, why should we worry about integrating AI into autonomous weapons systems? Seems like a totally overblown concern, because AI is -- wait, what?

Today Ralph @nader.org turns 92. I interviewed him in 2024 about his American Museum of Tort Law @tortlawmuseum.bsky.social (yes, actually a thing, and a pretty cool one).
It was an interesting and inspiring conversation. Agree or disagree, he's still going strong. Also below is the museum story.
Woo hoo! 600 followers (including bots)! I'm just fighting off the brand deals. Welcome, one and all, to bits o' journalism, cats and dogs, nature and birds, astronomy and stamps, and endless get-rich-quick tips. (In the words of @stevemartinreally.bsky.social, "First, get a million dollars.")

This was way too meta two weeks go and is probably still too meta, and besides, I put the hyphen in the wrong place and thatβs been keeping me up at night, waiting for the inevitable wave of mockery and harassment to begin. Okay, itβs JEAN-LUC, I know that.

Was sorry to learn of Jeff Gallowayβs passing. Run-walk-run has kept me a (mostly) injury-free runner, and this old book is still on my shelf. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/26/w...

Iβve been following this pretty closely the last year, particularly in ducks (as a former duck-keeper).
This is bad.

It lies at a distance of 980 light years and has some 80 member stars within its diameter of about 25 light years. The age of these young bright stars is approximately 200 million years. The cluster was known as a hazy patch in the sky already in antiquity and was first described by the ancient astronomer Ptolemy in 130 AD.
