The director asked the child if he knew why he wasn’t taken into the sky, to which, the child replied, yes, and explained that it was because he wouldn’t let his dog go the last time.

The child asked the director why he himself didn’t get raptured, and in response, the director nodded, intimating that he knew but was reluctant to say.

But this particular rapture (there had been multiple, previously) only took the dog, who the child released, and watched, smiling, as it flew into the air until it disappeared into the sky.

I had a dream that a film director was directing a child and his pet dog for some sort of commercial when a rapture happened, levitating all things on the film set that were good.

My son asked for a donut at the new bodega down the street and they reheated it, which melted all the chocolate frosting off on the wax paper. It was a streaming hot mess when they handed it to us.

I don’t think they eat donuts over there.

If you look intently at the little window on a cassette while it’s playing, you will sometimes see a tiny demon in there, smiling, enjoying the music, but also clawing mischievously at the tape, causing noise and artefacts. That’s why they put the window there.

I feel like we have more individual nodes of information to keep track of than in the past, and more sophisticated ways to track them. But if one node gets dislocated, it's like shining your phone flashlight down a well to try and find the particular coin you dropped down there. Good luck.

There's something particularly annoying about searching for a song you can't altogether remember, because modern search technology gets you so close to your answer. But if a popular song shares some of your search terms, it's just like "Are you sure it's not Cream?" Pretty sure, thanks Google.

And the problem with that is that Wordle, compared to Big League Chew, absolutely sucks.

I was thinking the other day about how I start each day with NYT games to prime my brain to think in words, when it occurred to me that the game Wordle is basically adult chewing gum. I am using these games to chew my way to fresh breath.

Our son said our neighborhood in Brooklyn used to be a forest. Then he said it’s going to go back to being a forest again, someday.
