Exclusive: U.S. CDC plans study into vaccines and autism, sources say The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is planning a large study into potential connections between vaccines and autism, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters, despite extensive scientific research that has disproven or failed to find evidence of such links.

It has been shown again and again that vaccines do not cause autism. The CDC's proposed study is a waste of time and resources that could be spent on research that would actually help autistic people.

As you share Oscars images, memes, screen shots, and more on social media, don't forget alt text. Adding alt text helps everyone using a screen reader, whether they are blind, have low-vision, have a cognitive disability, etc.

Capitalization affects how people read hashtags or how people hear them on screen readers. Use #camelCase or #PascalCase in hashtags instead of lowercase. You could have #DoctorWhoRewatch ("Doctor Who Rewatch") or #doctorwhorewatch ("doctor whore watch.")

3/3 Share the *accessible* slide deck or PDF with attendees. Be mindful of content in the Zoom Chat. That can sometimes interfere with those using text-to-speech screen reading tech. NCCSD is supported by a Dept of Ed grant (fingers crossed that will continue!)

2/3 2) Hire real time captioner. Search for local companies using CART or Captioning agency. In a pinch have Zoom host enable auto captioning. It's a lot better than previously but not perfect. 3) Verbally describe any images or graphics displayed in the meeting.

We're nonpartisan so we'd give the same advice to the GOP. Access in Zoom is so easy to set. 1) Contact an ASL Interpreting agency at least 2 weeks in advance & hire interpreters for the meeting. Contact the RID if you don't know of an ASL agency rid.org 1/3

As someone on SSDI I can't tell you how it hurts to listen to people speak about Social Security and Medicare but fail to mention the populations who subsist on these programs:

Survivors: 11.2%
People w/Disabilities: 11%
