No it actually doesn't, all it does is tell me that "X amount of PCs have this OS installed at PoS" that's it.

That's what made Windows to be so popular, that it's the default

Same way that people in the US won't install any app because iMessage is the default, alienating other phone brands

I would tell you to google some DEs because idk what you're talking about, KDE, one of the more modern ones with easy to apply customization; personally I dislike Gnome but that's also really modern.

I wasn't talking about that when I talked about the learning curve.

I meant interface-wise, MacOS and Windows are wildly different, so are many of the Linux DEs

The fact that you have to learn new software because Adobe doesn't support Linux is not a fault of the OS itself

I was speaking of PCs that were used as PoS terminals, not all of them that's another beast entirely, but i would bet that the tickets would be more about "how to do this" rather than issues with the OS (because monopoly)

But yes to both questions, users and my software had issues with windows

Yes I have while I was the sole developer for a small company, Windows alone brought me so many issues that I pondered changing the computers that I managed to Linux since the users didn't need to do much other than some basic Excel and use the inventory and invoice system I made for them

No it does not, all it does is say "i want it more windows-like" doesn't say what makes it "old" and doesn't tell how to improve, all it does is tell them to remove what makes them unique and be like Windows (Zorin)

Changing from Windows to MacOS has a learning curve, why should Linux be different?

Now if you really want to learn stuff about how Linux works and all, go with Debian, Arch...

I did this as a newbie and it was PAIN but i stuck up to it, because i was fed up with Windows and some stability issues i had with it, and now with the privacy stuff... I'm not changing back any time soon

No OS will be a drop in replacement of another, saying otherwise is foolish

If i try to go back to windows I'll lack stuff i use on the daily but I'll gain some things too

Changing to linux is the same

You just have to choose a nice distro, one aimed at new users might be nice (Mint, Nobara...)
