I’m not a politician, I’m a teacher and even though I’m running to be a US Senator, I still have bills to pay and a job to do.
Today’s schedule:
8am: Grocery shopping for nutrition class
10am: Intro to Nutrition lab
1pm: Intro to Nutrition lab round 2
3:30pm: Women, Health, and the Environment
Additionally, because Maine has done so much great work banning PFAs (as it should) it puts Maine farmers at a disadvantage when it comes to sourcing alternative fertilizer methods. That’s why it’s so important to support groups like MOFGA and the practice of regenerative agriculture.
Absolutely. I’ve given lectures on the topic of PFAs and environmental contaminants and have gone to PFAs seminars hosted by MOFGA about how Maine is a leader in its work to both ban PFAs and revitalize land that has been contaminated. That’s all work that I did long before my candidacy.
My next concern would be that a lack of traditional fertilizers pushes farmers to use more wastewater sludge, which will continue to add PFAs and toxic chemicals to our land and food. Understanding these connections within public health is what makes me a better candidate than my opponents.

I just peeked at your profile. Are you a reporter? I’d love to chat more and get some help amplifying my message.
Thanks so much for the support. 💜

Watching a guy get recognition for talking about the things that I’ve been doing my whole life is such a mind fuck. Human rights are action items, not talking points.
And don’t even get me started on our public health infrastructure. I’m for Medicare for All just like a lot of democrats, but what I’m adding to that is increased investments in our public health system so we can both treat injury and prevent future illness.
Thank you for supporting myself and others who are out in trenches fighting for our neighbors.
You and me both. The campaign trail is bound to be loaded with viruses.
On any given day almost half of the students in my college courses are out sick. They’re always sick. I don’t have the time or desire for any of that.
I know there will certainly be some settings where I’ll choose to go maskless (when you’re campaigning for office people really like to see your face,) but the vast majority of the time (even when I’m teaching) I wear a mask.
All I can do is tell you the kind of candidate that I plan to be. Right now we have Susan Collins at the helm and running as a Democrat is the best way for me to get her out.
I agree. I’m really disappointed in the Democratic Party. They’ve been leaving women, minorities, and the working class on the back burner for far too long and I plan to change that. I wasn’t recruited like the other candidates; I stepped up because people need change.
Feminist public health professor, at your service.
👋🏼 Hi! Feminist public health professor here and the only candidate who has actually been elected president of her union chapter. This is my whole life, not just when campaign season starts.
Good for everyone, really. I want voters to be informed.
Actual photo of me right this second wearing a mask at Sam’s Club because COVID (and lots of other respiratory diseases) are still very much present.
Yes, I am. Thanks for pointing that out. I’ve got a big website update coming and I’ll be sure to make that clear.

And I’m actually an elected union chapter president—none of the other candidates can say that.
Thank you so much for supporting them. Passing legislation for abortion rights doesn’t mean much of we don’t have clinics. 💜
Trust me when I tell you it wasn’t always this way. Puberty was rough on me.
My feeling exactly. Got any ideas about a place I should reach out to for a town hall space?
I also wanted you to know that I’m working on my expanded policy positions right now along with scheduling some town halls so stay tuned for those updates soon.
That’s my feeling exactly. People keep asking if I can gain traction in three months when they should be asking if the other candidates can possibly fall apart in three months. I also firmly believe that what I’m building with my campaign is something bigger than this election.
It’d be nice to see some of that money actually going to help Maine communities.
Working on polishing up some more in-depth policy statements today and getting some town halls on the schedule. Stay tuned for dates and website updates!
