Obvious brainworms aside, I feel this really speaks to how algorithmically generated people’s tastes have become.

Art is typically a shared experience that should bring people together, but Silicon Valley has perverted it into a bespoke and personal experience catered to (tho more target at) you.

Was just talking about something like this. Feeling that people approach art as “is this pre-existingly made for me/ my interests? Am I allowed to engage with/like it? does it do something FOR me?” Rather than allowing for exploration and discovery and real engagement with a work that changes you
