Ive been wanting to make collaborative art for so long, but it's so tough when everyone's got a job. I feel game dev wasn't meant to be done alone, and i hope I'll successfully put something out with other ppl someday.

Oh yeah it's so fun to do that. The feedback I got about it though was that you should still include a basic description above the story for the sake of accessibility, since that's what it's for in the first place

So I'm not native but I've had close friends who are. What they've said is there are so few left who are even as much as 1/4 native, because the gene has become more spread out with each generation. Their thought was that in order to preserve these cultures, you just can't worry about it too much.

I definitely see your angle, but I think the issue is that they tend to bury their existential dread with commodities. Buying a cool car in combination with coming to terms with your mortality would be ideal I think.

yeahhh it's really tough. I think the key for solo dev is scoping very low.

And subtlety about a message doesn't make art good really, it's all the other stuff that does. But at the same time, I don't want all satire to baby me. If nothing else, I think this indicates that satire is a particularly bad way to influence people.

Oh for sure, there can be a lot of malice there. There's a really interesting conversation to be had about how artists should approach that. Because if art is a conversation, and many people don't understand it, that's a communication failure on the artist isn't it?

Waiting for our media to change things and blaming the masses for not understanding it just doesn't work. There are many examples of artists trying and failing to change the world with their art. I think the truth is that art is a tool for change, and it needs larger movements to be useful.

I get that, and I'm sure it can change things a little, there have been instances of that. My thought is that most audiences are constantly too exhausted from their work to apply critical thinking, even if they have that skill. That's why most of em just play Madden.

I can see where you're coming from, but also, there hasn't been a time in history has media literacy or an equivalent been a vehicle for radical change. I feel like we put far too many chips on our entertainment to save us, when maybe that wasn't the right direction to look.

I think it's super understated how much being blonde trivializes that too, you just don't have a 5 o clock shadow. It's being trans with cheats on lol.

And to that end it would be cool to see more cis x trans art, but that won't push the needle. Art and media isn't our savior.

Honestly though, that's very true to real life. There's a large divide between cis and trans sapphics, culturally and personally. It's a common experience to feel invalidated by cis lesbians, and not even out of malice. So yeah, I wouldn't say the art is the cause.

Is the yellow on grey cockatiels a sexual characteristic? I wouldn't know cus i have a yellow and white lutino boy, but i was under the impression you basically can't visually discern the sex of a cockatiel.

I don't think so, most of the older girlies i know feel as though they barely had a life before they transitioned. Whereas I transitioned young, was terminally online at one point, but now i'm one of them cool mysterious girls teehee.
