Safe to say that the European (ECMWF) seasonal ENSO forecast model has an opinion...

This would be quite the El NiΓ±o from June into peak Atlantic hurricane season.

REMINDER: This is simply one model ensemble projection. Far from a guarantee, but helpful to try to identify early signals.

RECORD HEAT WAVE IN SOUTH ASIA
A heat never seen been before this time of the year in India,Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Temperatures already close to 40C in Rajastan north of 30N, 2C/3C above the early March records.
The heat will just get worse:a March which will be like an April.

New monthly record also at Patthalung in Southern Thailand yesterday with 37.2C, 3 days of March all above the previous record.

Records have been falling in Thailand every day of February and so far of March.
And it will get in few days much hotter:expect dozens of records.

Looks like our local Kunanyi / Mt Wellington had about ten times more snow over summer than Salt Lake City, including about four inches in total on Christmas Day (photo from early that day as the blizzard ramped up).

Much of central Australia was bone dry (0mm) in January, but had over a years worth of rain in the last 4 weeks.
Green = more than annual rainfall, Blue = at least double annual rainfall.
