The Mario RPG remake is one I need to get my hands on sometime, I love the original! But I'll probably play The Thousand-Year Door first.

And to be honest, I'm saving Luigi's Mansion 3 for Halloween haha

That would be ideal. Expensive AAA games kinda need to exist - they're what sell consoles and advance the industry in terms of graphical fidelity and technology - but a balance between them and smaller games, like there was two generations ago, would be very good.

I'd never heard of this game, but (for obvious reasons), it seems like it's right up my alley. The sprite art looks great! I'll definitely see if I can find the time to check it out. Thanks for the review!

Exactly. We can't deliver this game in a reasonable timeframe because we have to render every pore on Leon's jacket and every strand of hair on Lara Croft's head.

Oh no, I'm aware of that. In fact, I think Insomniac is one of the studios that is openly against crunch culture these days, which is great. But we still hear about developers who, even after spending six or seven years developing a single game, had to crunch to finish it. Many are still overworked.

We used to get entire trilogies per generation, now it's one game per console at most, with a few exceptions (Assassin's Creed, Resident Evil, etc.).

I'm not saying I want a bazillion sequels to be made, I wouldn't even have the time to play all of them. But it is a very noticeable change.

I was thinking about how much more expensive and time-consuming game development has become.

In a 6-year period, between 2016 and 2021, we got two Ratchet games.

In the same amount of time, between 2002 and 2007, we got four on PS2, one on PSP, one on PS3, and even a Java phone game. Wild.

I think Guacamelee 2 is the most urgent game of all of these, because it's been about ten years since I first played and loved the original. I'm putting it at the top of my priorities!!

One of the best remakes ever. They took two of the greatest games from the 5th gen and combined them into the ultimate THPS experience. I was thrilled when it was announced, and it didn't disappoint.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about 3+4, but I digress.

The hardest part is always choosing which one to play next haha is there any specific game you recommend I play right away?

07.03.2026 12:08 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

Definitely! It looks a little intimidating, but also fun as hell.

Sakuna, the game I'm playing now, is one of the long ones, so I'll probably want to play some shorter ones when I'm done with it, maybe including this one 😌

07.03.2026 12:07 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

That's a fair amount, considering how gigantic the Switch library is 😅

07.03.2026 02:01 — 👍 2    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

Oh, okay haha

My wishlist was long, and I used to check it from time to time to pick up any good deal on the eShop. But then I realized my library was filling up with games I wasn't playing, so last week I decided to clear my wishlist to focus on my backlog.

It was hard, but I managed to do it 🀣

I imagine some of them are quite hard to find, considering that a good portion those games are indie and you like to get physical copies when possible, right?

I picked up Big Hops when it launched, played for a few hours, but I was in the middle of my playthrough of Dragon Quest XI, so I ended up putting it down. I need to get back to this one urgently, it's a great game!

Now that I'm playing through Sakuna, this is what my current Switch backlog looks like. Lots of classics just sitting there, waiting to be experienced.

I think I'll slow down on picking up new games, so I can finally get to these ones. I'll probably just pick up a few new releases here and there.

I've been playing this really rad new 2D skateboarding game called Skate Bums, and I think it's a shame how little coverage I've seen about it.

The art style looks like a 2000s pop-punk album cover in playable form, and the gameplay, while simplistic, is super snappy and fun. Highly recommended!

The story of her saga to port Doom to the 3DO in a like couple of months, basically single-handedly, is incredible. An absolute legend of this industry.

Oh no, that one actually looks pretty sick 😭 well, if I ever need another time sinker, I know which game I'll be trying haha

I need to get back to Ball X Pit, especially after that expansion they released. That game is dope, and yeah, definitely capable of holding your attention very well 🀣

Oh no, I'm familiar with Ball X Pit, that game was the first one to almost take my attention away from Absolum for almost a week 🀣 I need to get back to it, it's a really fun little time waster.

I want to, but my PC sucks and I don't like playing games on it 😭 I'm praying for a Switch release 🙏

Q: Quake 2 Remastered

Okay, I'm not gonna say I "looked forward" to it, or that this game blew my mind, but I remember thinking it was a really cool release back in 2023, and when it launched on Game Pass, I played it for about two or three hours and yeah, it definitely lived up to its reputation!

Of all the Mickey Mouse renditions, I think this was the only one that reached the level of comedy of the old Looney Tunes shorts, maybe even surpassed it a little. I love how this cartoon manages to balance a classic feel with modern comedy.

I love Vampire Survivors, but whenever I see another game going for the same gameplay loop, I'm always like "why would I play that? I already have Vampire Survivors." Having one game like that is enough for me.

Except Megabonk. That game have a skateboarding skeleton, I need to play it eventually.

Thinking about that scene in one of the Beyblade shows where they show Moses parting the Red Sea by spinning a Beyblade.
