I'm not even gonna play, it can't get any better/worse than this.

Almost a decade after playing the first one, I finally started Guacamelee 2, and just like that, almost five hours of gameplay have passed.
What a great game! Challenging, funny, creative... I may have to find the time to replay the original in the near future.
Does it retell the story of the game? Because if so, I might want to wait a bit to watch it haha but it's good to know it's good!
08.03.2026 18:58 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Yeah, the story is good and the end was satisfying, but by the final stretch I was getting a little tired of the gameplay. If it was like three hours longer, I probably would have stopped before finishing it as well haha

I finished Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. Very good, but perhaps a little too long; I didn't think the combat held up for the almost 26 hours it took me to roll the credits.
But the art, soundtrack, engaging farming mechanics and the lovable cast of characters all made the experience well worth it!
Post some of your favourite female video game characters for International Women's Day.

Happy International Women's Day to all the rad women around!
Whether you were born a woman, or discovered yourself as such later, you are valid, you are important, and you deserve to live in a world that allows you to have peace and be carefree.
That makes a lot of sense. By the time their childhood game gets a sequel, those kids are already teenagers and moved on to other things. That's probably part of the reasons why "endless" games like Minecraft and Fortnite are so popular with kids, because they can last their whole childhood.

The Mario RPG remake is one I need to get my hands on sometime, I love the original! But I'll probably play The Thousand-Year Door first.
And to be honest, I'm saving Luigi's Mansion 3 for Halloween haha
That would be ideal. Expensive AAA games kinda need to exist - they're what sell consoles and advance the industry in terms of graphical fidelity and technology - but a balance between them and smaller games, like there was two generations ago, would be very good.
07.03.2026 14:26 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I'd never heard of this game, but (for obvious reasons), it seems like it's right up my alley. The sprite art looks great! I'll definitely see if I can find the time to check it out. Thanks for the review!
07.03.2026 14:21 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Exactly. We can't deliver this game in a reasonable timeframe because we have to render every pore on Leon's jacket and every strand of hair on Lara Croft's head.
07.03.2026 14:20 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Oh no, I'm aware of that. In fact, I think Insomniac is one of the studios that is openly against crunch culture these days, which is great. But we still hear about developers who, even after spending six or seven years developing a single game, had to crunch to finish it. Many are still overworked.

We used to get entire trilogies per generation, now it's one game per console at most, with a few exceptions (Assassin's Creed, Resident Evil, etc.).
I'm not saying I want a bazillion sequels to be made, I wouldn't even have the time to play all of them. But it is a very noticeable change.
I was thinking about how much more expensive and time-consuming game development has become.
In a 6-year period, between 2016 and 2021, we got two Ratchet games.
In the same amount of time, between 2002 and 2007, we got four on PS2, one on PSP, one on PS3, and even a Java phone game. Wild.
I think Guacamelee 2 is the most urgent game of all of these, because it's been about ten years since I first played and loved the original. I'm putting it at the top of my priorities!!

T: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2
One of the best remakes ever. They took two of the greatest games from the 5th gen and combined them into the ultimate THPS experience. I was thrilled when it was announced, and it didn't disappoint.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about 3+4, but I digress.
The hardest part is always choosing which one to play next haha is there any specific game you recommend I play right away?

Definitely! It looks a little intimidating, but also fun as hell.
Sakuna, the game I'm playing now, is one of the long ones, so I'll probably want to play some shorter ones when I'm done with it, maybe including this one 😌
That's a fair amount, considering how gigantic the Switch library is 😅

Oh, okay haha
My wishlist was long, and I used to check it from time to time to pick up any good deal on the eShop. But then I realized my library was filling up with games I wasn't playing, so last week I decided to clear my wishlist to focus on my backlog.
It was hard, but I managed to do it 🤣
