Yeah, playing this after playing games made with the modern engine really doesn't help this game's case haha it aged well enough, but not compared to the new stuff. But yeah, still enjoyable (I'm glad about the upcoming Kiwami release tho)

I didn't know about the cut content! And I assume Kiwami 3 will be localized including all this content, right? If that's the case, than I'm glad to finally see a complete version of this game available outside of Japan.

It's really worth it. And I imagine Yakuza 4 and 5 will be the ones that will feel most strange to you, because of the different structure with multiple playable characters.

It really is!! Hopefully, the Kiwami release will be able to help people appreciate it a little more.

I agree, the combat in the post-Zero games makes this one seem ancient in comparison. But the only Yakuza games I played before this one were the originals on PS2, so I was able to see how much this game improves on them. Honestly, one of the biggest leaps in quality the franchise has ever taken.

Developed by Amusement Vision and published by SEGA in 2009 for the PS3, a remaster was published in 2019 for PS4, Xbox consoles and PC, and that release is still available.

A remake subtitled "Kiwami & Dark Ties" is set to be released in early-2026.

Game 340: Yakuza 3

I know this one can be a very divisive entry in the franchise, but honestly, Kiryu's soap opera adventure in Okinawa is probably my favorite in the whole series. The gameplay wasn't as refined as later entries, but there's something about those beach vibes I can't get enough of.

Game 339: Mighty Goose

Going for what I can only describe as "Metal Slug meets Untitled Goose Game", this is an absurdly fun, fast-paced run 'n gun game with fantastic sprite art and animations, non-stop action and a very silly sense of humor.

Right?? I haven't played those remakes yet, but it's undeniable how impressive they look, while also still feeling like the originals. Especially the second one, that game looks incredible!!

I love Soul Calibur V specifically when playing locally with friends, because that game looks awesome and the gameplay is quite fun. But yeah, everything else about it is precisely disappointing haha

Sony don't have the guts to release something like that anymore, unfortunately.
