12.11.2025 04:12 β π 39 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0Thanks Joe ! Your visit to our lab was a big morale boost during a turbulent time. Thanks for reaching out to us ! (And the donuts were great too)

We said goodbye to 6 long term, highly valued colleagues at the NOAA Chemical Sciences Lab yesterday. Andy Langford, Jim Roberts, Wayne Angeline, Bob Portman, Cathy Weable, Jeanne Waters. All retired earlier than planned to spare other jobs. Itβs just not the same lab today.

28.04.2025 02:56 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm no longer motivated π€¨
28.04.2025 02:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In a bit of more positive news, I finished the Boston marathon last Monday in 3:23. Now, 5 days later, I am finally recovered enough to post it !
26.04.2025 17:10 β π 128 π 2 π¬ 10 π 0I also dislike this post !
26.04.2025 16:43 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Same happened to my terminated probationary NOAA Feds. I donβt understand why these people are given no consideration whatsoever.
26.04.2025 16:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm addicted to endnote. For no good reason.
26.04.2025 16:36 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Clouds darkening over NOAA research. We are slated for elimination in next years budget. Astonishing loss to the nation and the world if it happens.
11.04.2025 17:02 β π 26 π 28 π¬ 10 π 4Our NOAA probationary feds were re-fired today. Taken off administrative leave, no salary, no health care. I feel increasingly powerless.

Admin leave is a step forward for our terminated federal employees, but itβs not enough. They are being paid, thankfully, but they are not able to continue their valuable work for the nation.

16.03.2025 23:24 β π 9 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0The mood at NOAA is bleak
08.03.2025 22:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I just lost two close colleagues at NOAA to this afternoonβs firings of probationary employees. I am lost and heartbroken.

Very serious indeed. Not good for agency or lab morale, to say the least.

The US Constitution does not grant the President this unilateral authority.
In Illinois, we will stand against unlawful actions that would harm millions of working families, children, and seniors.
