We are scientists of our own minds, see what works for you. That said, certain meditations like ones that examine the thoughts or feelings coming up could amplify them in times of great stress or anxiety, so breathwork or movement based meditation may be more helpful to you in those moments.

It seems easier to enter that pleasant state if you set up the conditions for it to naturally arise, but don't try to make it happen per se. Enjoy regardless!
