07.03.2026 08:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Pretty difficult to refute a single thing in this perfect assessment of where the f**k we are, from @iandunt.bsky.social:
06.03.2026 08:57 β π 17296 π 5415 π¬ 453 π 326I am still humming it several minutes later and think that's a very good sign considering I can't remember even the slightest bit of anything about the last few (although I do still randomly hum cha cha cha so make of that what you will)

03.03.2026 17:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Horrible disease and it's good to remind ourselves of the very subtle signals that indicate that something is not right
01.03.2026 12:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This piano room sessions programme on BBC2 at the moment is a great antidote to the news. I'm currently reliving being told off by my WHSMITH manager for playing Deacon Blue on repeat after I was put in charge of the music department as a 17 year old
28.02.2026 22:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Tabby cat called Welly, short for Wellington so named to annoy his French godfather, looking a bit grumpy, which you would be too quite frankly if you were 19 3/4 and your humans insisted on sleeping at night rather than staying up and feeding you at 2 hourly intervals.
Welly says it's getting late, time for bed
28.02.2026 21:49 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Wellington was delighted by them too, but I was concerned he was taking notes and we might end like that poor zebra in the morning

View from the top of some sand dunes over the Atlantic ocean. The sun is setting, the sky is orange and blue with some high clouds, ocean has some rollers and the beach has some wet patches on it.
Glorious sunset. Ocean was a bit chilly but the sun was hot so soon warmed up again
24.02.2026 20:16 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Very handsome tabby cat half asleep on someone wearing an olive green jumper. Welly is 19 3/4 and likes starting up all night so it's no wonder he's half asleep, that's tiring business.

The US shows that abortion rights can be curtailed without sudden shifts in public sentiment. A small organised political movement can restrict rights without ever winning a majority.

Deborah Frances-White @theguiltyfeminist.bsky.social is very good on the impact US right wing money and how it's infiltrating UK right wing politics (having used trans issues to divide the left). She's done a series of podcasts and is organising workshops to come up with a plan to fight it
22.02.2026 13:10 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This was fun. I was ok for 1100 by dint of being a German speaker and reading it out loud. But 1000 was a step too far.
22.02.2026 10:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's at the bottom of a big hill. My parents lived close to the town centre and a round trip waking to M&S was a good 1.5h, including lugging the shopping bags back up the hill. Too much for most and only a 5 minute drive.
21.02.2026 15:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And don't get me started on the endless nail bars and Turkish barber shops. A small market town does not need 10 of each in a 500yd radius
21.02.2026 15:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0They put some sort of mΓ©ga sweet shop cum bounce house thing in both M&S and Woolies old stores but it just makes them look even more run down
21.02.2026 15:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So depressing. I wrote to the council and suggested a free shuttle bus so you could park and get the big box experience then into town for the few excellent little speciality shops that are left
21.02.2026 15:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yep, and the pour of town shopping centres. They opened a big shiny one just outside Rugby (literally 5 minutes down the road from the town centre) and M&S, Boots, Dunelm, Next, etc all moved out of their high street premises. Now these huge buildings are too big for the local shops left
21.02.2026 14:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0And tbf we've had two school shootings in Toulouse so they get the shooter drill every year anyway
