I haven't seen Tremors (1990) since it was in theaters. Maybe it ought to be in rotation as one of my horror comfort movies? I love the characters and I love the monster and I love that it's not hiding some deeper allegory in the subtext. It's just fun.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) remains evergreen. Vivid and angry. The Sawyers, I am reminded, are economic monsters more than anything and their grievances remain in the body politic.

So, I'm on my blogging bullshit again, with a look at T-Blockers for the October Horror movie challenge and for Aaron Christensen's Scare-A-Thon in support of the International Rescue Committee. This had a fast turnaround because I had a bug up my butt about it. Blame (waves arms around) all this.

Also, I hope I don't have to drive nine hours to Chicago to see this on a big screen. Grumble grumble netflix grumble grumble...

I'm starting my annual October horror film blogging with a look at the first two sequels to 1933's The Invisible Man. Both were released in 1940, so second wave Universal horror. One is pretty good. The other is less so....

I used to do electro in four hour chunks. By the second hour it had usually released so many endorphins that I was high as a kite for the remaining three. So there's that. I sometimes fell asleep.

Going to a showing of Alice Maio Mackay's TBlockers tonight at my local art house. Kills three birds with one stone: supports trans art, supports my local indie theater, and it's a horror movie for October. Perfect.
