Should you ever chance to meet him, please tell him Alonzo sends his regards, and would like to know if he was ever able to locate that specimen of Qui'Xian jade to replace the original pilfered keystone.

"All this accomplished by an ogre?", I hear you ask, and frankly, Fuddgrungus was truly exceptional in his ways and his ability to rise above. Though I have not heard from him in some time, I assume he still spearheads the restoration of Vhrallen IV's relics to this day.

With the aid and advice of an old friend, a dwarven lawscribe, Fuddgrungus was able to prove his purpose, call attention to the lack enforcement of highway repairs, and even began to offer guided tours of the restoration process for an added fee. He was truly a remarkable ogre.

During the restoration process, the king learned of the toll funds Fuddgrungus collected and, ignorant to his purpose, placed a bounty on Fuddgrungus for payment of back taxes. When confronted, Fuddgrungus refused, rightly stating the coin served it's intended nonprofit purpose.

The questionable engineering brought Fuddgrungus no end of frustration, and as a result he was forced to alter the original design in many places. (The blueprints found in a dusty archive were amateurish and less than helpful, though provided great insight and some inspiration.)

Now, Marcellius Weatherbridge, the architect, was not truly an architect by trade, rather he was a skilled cartographer whom King Vhrallen IV favored highly and so conscripted to design his works. As such, despite superb architecture, their engineering... left much to be desired.

Fuddgrungus was a veritable expert in the ways of stonemasonry, owing to a longstanding friendship with dwarven clans in the region. This made him particularly well suited to the task. With the toll funds he purchased what rare materials he could afford toward the restoration.

Fuddgrungus spent many years meticulously and painstakingly restoring the old bridge, for this was no common bridge, it was one of a few remotely located select masterpieces from the reign of King Vhrallen IV, designed by his chief architect Marcellius Weatherbridge. A rare gem!

I once knew a bridge ogre by name of Fuddgrungus. He would collect tolls from all who passed through his bridge, but these were reasonably set. The coin would go toward restoration and upkeep of the bridge, as the king had let it go to rot despite high taxes for highway repair.

That... Is entirely fair.

GADZOOKS!!! It appears to be fully compatible with gnomish physiology after all! Please keep in mind the effects are temporary, and... ah, if you experience any side effects, you will let us know, yes? And please keep in mind that we are not held responsible.
