PIP cuts mapped: The worst-hit areas as more than 1.3m could lose support
Some of the UK’s most deprived areas stand to lose out the most, new data reveals
Working class Disabled people are less likely to be physically active than Disabled people from higher socioeconomic groups (43% vs 29%).
With the cuts introduced in Parliament today, we know the poorest will be the worst off in all areas of their lives.

The Disability and Migration Network rejects, in the strongest possible terms, the Government's 'Restoring Control over the Immigration system' White Paper and the racist logic that underpins it. The government is attacking migrants using the same narratives of 'productivity' and 'contribution to society' which which it justifies devastating welfare cuts. While we should never rely on elected politicians alone to deliver a socially just society, the recent White Paper is a stark reminder of how important it is for us to resist the scapegoating of migrants and Disabled people together
Once again, the Government seeks to divide us by scapegoating migrants and Disabled people. We reject racist and ableist explanations of society’s problems.

tomorrow MPs will have their final vote on Leadbeater's assisted suicide bill. devoid of countless promised safeguards, and alongside other brutal gov't cuts to palliative care, healthcare + welfare, it represents a huge expansion of social murder against disabled ppl especially

"Assisted dying is a class issue… As long as we live in a world where certain groups of people are devalued […] it will never be safe to legalise assisted suicide, because no safeguard can protect against the abuse that will happen."
Assisted dying can never be guaranteed as a truly voluntary act of suicide in any State which first neglects assisting people to live. For many it will be coercive euthanasia, an expansion of quotidian violence targeting vulnerable bodies. Manufacturing the deaths of minorities labelled ‘economically inactive’ or a ‘burden’ is not about their freedom of choice, but the State’s freedom to practice social murder and eugenics.

Chris Philp (Cons) suggesting we get the 5 million ‘economically inactive’ people into care work. Apparently it only takes a few weeks to train them up.
Dear lord, he really has no idea the level of skill required to do care work.

Disability and Migration Network Response to Care Worker Visa Announcement
“When Disabled people are able to access care and support, this is often from migrant care workers, whose skills and essential role in social care have been devalued and invalidated by both the government and the media.
The government’s dangerous and inflammatory announcement further normalises far-right politics, while distracting from the repeated failure of successive governments to progress meaningful reform, or to reverse the widespread profiteering in England’s predominantly privatised social care sector.”

NHS plans 'unthinkable' cuts to balance books
Diabetes care, rehab centres, end-of-life services and talking therapies at risk in England.
At the exact same time as Downing St gives the green light and support to a Bill to force the NHS to offer euthanasia to its dying patients, the Government fails to fund palliative and end-of-life care for those same patients. Frankly, this is dystopian.

Cooper ‘pandering’ to Farage by ordering publication of foreign criminals’ nationalities
Move expected to lead to ‘league tables’ showing which nationalities are more associated with particular crimes
We must challenge the dog whistle politics that attempt to manufacture a link between nationality, religion, ethnicity + criminality, + that attempt to present criminality as something exclusively inherent to non-Western "incompatible cultures"...

The Home Office has announced that it will be publicising the nationalities of foreign national offenders (FNOs). These plans are a racist exercise in scapegoating, with the aim of linking criminality to nationality- esp. nationality of Global South + Muslim-majority countries...

DAMN Borders. End Barriers! Disability and Migration Justice Conference. 28th June 2025. Collaborative activist conference between the Disability and Migration Network (DAMN) and the DPAC Crip tank. Understanding, resisting and building alternatives to territorial and internal borders that divide us and reduce our lives. Picture of a mural created by Andrew Bolton together with Disabled people seeking asylum. On the left there is a person falling from a building with a police car below. A wheelchair user is chained. A man is holding his head. A small figure is tending a grave. A fence divides these people from people sitting outside a large house. Guards with their fingers in their ears are guarding the fence. The sun is shining on that side. At the top a small row of figures is pulling the fence away.
