29.07.2025 12:04 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The EU doesn't buy any energy and no intention to. Private companies based in EU countries do.
So a European Commission promise to buy US energy isn't worth much, is it?
But it allows Trump to tell his voters and fossil fuel financial backers that he got the EU to buy US gas.
@claudioangelo.bsky.social is one of the authors and I suspect the one responsible for the Coldplay lyrics!

Back in 2022 - when the idea of drawing up this oil standard was new - @tzeporah.bsky.social said that oil industries โare not going to design their own demise" and accused them of "delay tactics". Looks like she was right!

Oil companies end their involvement with the Science-Based Targets Initiative's oil standard as - in Shell's words - it "did not reflect the industry view".
I would argue it should reflect the science rather than the industry view!

"The move has reinvigorated Bolsonaroโs leftwing rivals, given Lula a bounce in the polls and prompted a wave of public anger, largely focused on the Bolsonaro clan who have spent years portraying themselves as flag-loving nationalists."

Elon Musk casually, and illegally, dismantled USAID. According to a new study in the Lancet, that action will lead to *14 million* premature deaths between 2025 and 2030.
Again: Elon Musk is directly responsible for 14 million coming deaths. 4.5 million will be children.
