Really interesting article to check out. βThere isnβt a one-size-fits-all solution or an obvious answer. Itβs a bit like deciding how a newsroom decides to position itself against fake news, or to what extent they decide to give a platform to extremist views β itβs complicated.β

Tapping into data from Bluesky
Altmetric has expanded its tracking capabilities by integrating data from Bluesky, the rapidly growing social media platform with over 24 million users.
"There is a changing environment with a more diverse pool of platforms for people to discuss research on social media"
"However, we still see a number of discussions about research happening on X. So from purely a data perspective, there would be no reason for us to stop indexing X."

Like @kakape.bsky.social, I also don't agree with everything in this article but second that it is worth reading for the reason Kai states well below - choosing deliberately whatever the path. π π€

Yes, this takes time and work but take it from someone whose entire career is based on listening, it is very much worth it.

#STFU does not mean to stop talking/posting entirely. We obviously benefit from sharing and hearing many different perspectives. It does mean being a bit more intentional though and giving sincere listening to everyone when they are talking in meetings, on social media, wherever.

Dan Lyons has many great points in this thoughtful book on the art (and science) of shutting the **** up and listening.

As they say, there is always more to the story... "She feels that Twitter and other social media fed into a larger problem in the industry. Editors want more work, faster, and can start to see clicks and engagement as the only measure of success." π Shamira Ibrahim

Well hi there Blueskiers? :) I have been here for a while but dang, this is my first post. My job is so much on the organizational listening end (happy to talk with anyone about what that is) that I rarely post myself anymore on any platforms.
