We have snow moving in this morning, but dry air is winning out farther to the north for now. The heaviest bands of snow are setting up from Bismarck down through Aberdeen, and snow will look to last into the late morning, tapering out from west to east. #ndwx #mnwx

Here we go again, the few flurries this cold morning aren't widespread, but where they flit about, they'll cause pockets of low visibility because of the breeze today. Then we're back on the clipper train, with a couple chances for light snow Tuesday and Wednesday. #ndwx #mnwx

We're back to what you may expect for February. Even with highs in the 10s, the NW wind keeps wind chills subzero this afternoon. It's also the NW breeze that may knock a few flakes out of the clouds today, but flurries won't be more than a nuisance this weekend. #ndwx #mnwx

Tomorrow still looks to start calm, but then we will see winds ramp up and rain develop in the afternoon and evening. Then overnight, we switch over to snow, with the worst coming Tuesday night into the day on Wednesday. #ndwx #mnwx

Today is the appetizer to the midweek main course. Parts of the Devils Lake Basin are seeing a wintry mix sliding through, while the southern valley is seeing more sunshine and melting this afternoon. #ndwx #mnwx

We are dealing with the fog through the late morning across the valley. If you need to travel early, allow more time for both low visibility and some slick spots. On the bright side, we've got more melting and another mild day to wrap up the weekend. #ndwx #mnwx

With the melting snow, there is still plenty of moisture in the air for fog. Most are seeing the dense fog being kept at bay for now, but there are a few pockets to the north, and calmer conditions tonight will bring the chance for dense fog back tomorrow morning. #ndwx #mnwx

Be cautious on sidewalks, but get out and enjoy some warm weather this weekend. Refreezing overnight means the sidewalks have a few slick spots early, but will melt to a few puddles by the afternoon. #ndwx #mnwx

It's a foggy start to your Super Bowl Sunday, but the bulk of the fog is across central ND. If you want to get some fresh air ahead of kickoff today, most will be around or above freezing. We've also got a few flakes ahead, but the chances this week look rather light. #ndwx #mnwx

No major impacts for the weekend, but a few minor ones are possible. Today will be breezy, and we are looking out for pockets of mist/freezing drizzle bringing patchy slick spots this evening. Sunday, the focus shifts to highs near freezing and fog early to the west. #ndwx #mnwx

The main area to keep an eye on for a little blowing/drifting will be on the east side of the valley, but for most we'll then just be heading to cloudy skies this afternoon. Snow doesn't stay away for long though, I'm tracking who could see another inch or two to start the week.

Snow is sliding Eastward right on schedule, with the leading edge moving in to Devils Lake and Jamestown as we wrap up the morning. Snow will continue it's eastward push this afternoon, and blowing snow will be the main cause of travel troubles tonight for the valley. #ndwx #mnwx

Right now, the best chance for low visibility continuing into Sunday AM tends to be across the northern valley with the most consistent snow. As snow moves out we will keep an eye on pockets of low vis. for Lakes Country as well, that gradually improve through the day. (2/2)

It may not look like it yet, but we are tracking a wintry weekend, and here's a breakdown. Snow moves in from west to east today, with western ND seeing some freezing rain now. As this clipper moves through, snow will be heaviest tonight across the valley. #ndwx #mnwx (1/2)

In the clouds ahead of the cold temperatures, we are seeing flurries leading to light accumulations. Fargo's seen around 0.2" overnight. While the flakes are flitting under the radar beam, we are seeing the most consistent light snow now out over lakes country. #mnwx #ndwx

It's another morning with dangerous wind chills as clouds clear out of the valley, and lows drop to the -10s to -30s where we have clear skies. We'll stay subzero through the day, and then we are tracking the chance for a dusting of snow to start the week. #ndwx #mnwx

And while we are seeing a few flakes flit out from the cloud deck we have moving into the valley, they're not the cause of any travel headaches this weekend. We are keeping an eye on where travel destinations will be impacted though by the storm tracking across the southern US.

The focus this weekend continues to be on the frigid forecast. A few spots across southern North Dakota may sneak up above zero today, but most remain subzero this weekend, with the worst of the cold yet to come being tonight into Sunday in the northern valley. (1/2) #ndwx #mnwx

Travel remains hazardous as we head through the morning, with the whiteout conditions right around the valley, with frequent visibility around or under 0.1 Miles, but in the breaks we are seeing some sundogs to start off this brutal Saturday. #ndwx #mnwx

That wind today is also bringing in brutally cold wind chills, in the -20s and -30s for most today. Then tonight, we are tracking another round of near-blizzard conditions that will be likely to continue for much of the morning on Sunday. #ndwx #mnwx

SATURDAY MORNING: We are sandwiched between two storms today, one refusing to let up on winds and blowing snow this morning, with more snow on the way tonight. No travel advised for much of the day, with I-29 closed from Grand Forks through the Canadian border. (1/2) #ndwx #mnwx

Also, as the front moves through, that will clear out the clouds later on this afternoon, sending some sunshine our way. Tonight's the first sunset after 5:00 pm for Fargo for 2026, and we'll be seeing that sunrise on Weekend First News before ya know it. #ndwx #mnwx

While it's chillier this morning, the warmer air is on the way. We've got a weak warm-front tracking across the region today, and a few spots in the northern valley and NW Minnesota may get flurries from that, but highs will make it to near-freezing this afternoon. #ndwx #mnwx

For the rest of eastern North Dakota? A bit of a different story. You may get a few flurries here or there, but not as consistent as we are seeing to the north and east. Gradually through the afternoon, the flakes will taper off, but we will still have the wind into the evening.

Flurries have been lingering around Lakes Country, so that is where we have the worse of the blowing snow, with frequent pockets of 1 to 2 mile visibility. The same goes for the Northern Valley, with a travel alert around and north of Grand Forks for blowing snow. #ndwx #mnwx
