For Loera it was indeed the same knee. Not the case for every player who had 2 ACL injuries in my list.
Don't know healing wise, but mentally I guess it's probably tougher when it's both knees. But I'm just guessing. It probably depends on the player too.

Right now, I have 28 players who had 2 ACL injuries since 2022. Out of 610 ACL injuries listed.
Some of them got re-injured during or just after rehab, others got to play for months and then got another ACL injury.

A lot of these players have had more than 1 ACL injury in their careers though.

Still, I find it very interesting that every NWSL team has had at least one ACL injury in the last 3 years, apart from San Diego Wave. Don't know if they do/did something different, but if it's the case, it has been working.

But it could also just be that it's the league where it's easier to find out about the ACL injuries because of the mandatory injury reports.

Project ACL is focusing on the WSL (for now?) , their results might still be useful but may not answer to the NWSL specific issue, if there is one.

Oh and even without a ball given the amount of news I see about ACL injuries in gymnastics and wrestling for example.

And there's Aubrey Plaza's case who surprised a lot of people.

Well, I've seen news of coaches, at least one referee and a club's president getting an ACL injury (although: mostly men) so I'm not surprised anymore 😂

The usual numbers from research say that it's 2 to 8 times higher in WOSO.

Thanks to all those following this account before I even started posting. This will start today with the full list of ACL injuries found between January 2022 and December 2024.

For now I'm don't think I'll post each new injuries like on Twitter (it's too much), but we'll see how it goes.
