I used to pay for a patient's meloxicam "out of the change jar" but it was really my own money sometimes because she was doordashing nonstop to keep her motel room for her son despite debilitating arthritis that really should have been treated with Humira and not a fucking NSAID.

I was like, why would I ask questions if I believed you had nothing to teach me, and apparently I was asking them in order to prove she had nothing to teach me by on purpose asking questions she wouldn't know the answer to

("participating too much" was "sometimes if the attending asked a yes or no question about a patient's medication therapy and I was 100% sure of the answer I would answer it" and if my preceptor didn't like that she was more than welcome to say something at any point!)

once I got a rotation evaluation that I seemed bored and disinterested and clearly believed my preceptor had nothing to teach me, and ALSO that I asked my preceptor too many detailed questions and was participating in rounds too much
