A great photo of Harold Larwood padding up before a net session during the 1932-33 Bodyline series. By no means a hopeless batsman, he scored his Test-best 98 in the series and in his first-class career overall scored three hundreds with an average of 19.91

The #RAC have proved to be pretty useless, it took them 8 hours to reach my daughter's broken down car. That's a ridiculous length of time.

An amazing award-winning photograph by Darren Pateman as players in a 3rd grade game at Cessnock on October 19th 2002 realise how close to them the fire has come. Pateman was on his way to photograph the fire when he spotted the match in progress. The game went on.

Derek Randall recoils from a snake, 6th Ashes Test, Sydney, February 14th 1979. It was actually a rubber fake, lobbed behind Randall by Graeme Wood. Randall came out to bat at No.3 with England needing three to win, which they did by nine wickets to secure the series 5-1

β€˜Absolute hell’: Irishman with valid US work permit held by Ice since September Seamus Culleton has been in a detention facility in Texas for nearly five months despite having no criminal record

This is absolutely insane. The sort of Kafka-esque nightmare you would find in a Philip K Dick book set far in the dystopian future. A window on America tumbling into autocracy.

The US state department is set to fund Maga-aligned think-tanks and charities across Europe to disseminate Washington's policy positions and challenge perceived threats to free speech.

Senior state department official Sarah Rogers travelled to Europe in December to meet influential rightwing think-tanks and has spoken to key figures in Nigel Farage's populist Reform UK party about deploying a pot of money to spread American values, according to three people with knowledge of the matter.

The funding was linked to the 250th anniversary celebrations of US independence later this year, the people said.

It is likely to cause consternation among Washington's allies, particularly centre-left governments such as Labour in the UK, which will be concerned that US government funds are being deployed to undermine their policies.

Remember the controversy when Obama was accused of intervening in UK politics? This is the current US government openly seeking to undermine liberal democracy in Europe.

My final offerings. Nottingham is well known as the rebel city. We celebrate, we protest, we display our art. We accept diversity.
My move to Minnesota meant that I still enjoy these magnificent traits.
Nottingham strong is Minnesota strong.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.

Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.
