Some states (Vermont included) are finding ways to fund SNAP until government reopens. (Yea us!) The Trump administration just sent a threatening letter to states, telling them to NOT DO THIS or face penalties. F Trump. F Republicans.

It's NOT about "a shutdown". It's about agreeing on a BUDGET. Democrats want to continue to subsidize medical insurance plans, Republicans want to eliminate those subsidies. Democrats are fighting to make medical insurance affordable. That's a good thing. Hope they continue to fight.

President Donald J Trump could continue to fund SNAP (food assistance). A court even said he *must*. But he won't. Because he is a defective human. No empathy, no compassion, no generosity, no kindness.

No Democrat voted to shut the government down. Most Democrats refused to vote for a budget that kicked millions off their medical insurance. One did not.
