The last time I saw Crowded House live was April โ94 at Desperados in North Charleston SC. Their rendition of Private Universe was transcendent. Didnโt find out until much later that Paul quit the band after the next show in Atlanta 2 days later

The worldโs sickest spoon solo courtesy of the legendary Split Enz, during their 1,000th show (they were stuck on 999 forever) for their 50th anniversary. Amazing band to see live, actually. Neil Finn (Crowded House) and older bro Tim Finn were in great form. Neil shreds on guitar too.

Having fallen in love with the band via Woodface, the DS arrival hype was high. It did not disappoint.
Beautiful in almost any format, the opening chords and lyrics never fails to bring a smile or transport me back to my teens.
My wife and I walked down the aisle to this song, so I guess you could say it's pretty special to us!

Split Enz c.1977. The wrong look & the wrong music entirely for an assault on London in the high summer of Punk, but a fascinating band all the same. They of course came through. I saw them with Neil Finn onboard in 1980 & 1981 in sold-out theatres and they really were blisteringly good.
