I want to support a robust and powerful union that helps protect and lift up workers.

Unfortunately, SAG-AFTRA has continuously disappointed me with their inability to read the room and properly address the concerns of its members in meaningful ways.

They *need* to do better than this.

Two things shall forever remain true: SAG-AFTRA organizers doing the hardest work in the industry, and SAG-AFTRA higher-ups ruining every single bit of it by saying the stupidest shit imaginable on camera.

Goat was everything I wanted it to be! Gorgeously animated, with a stellar soundtrack, a remarkable cast (Modo my BELOVED,) and a sense of style that you won't find in anything either Disney or DreamWorks is putting out.

It's a little weirdly edited in places, but that's my biggest gripe.

I've watched a few vtubers react to @kaiserneko.bsky.social's Sailor Moon Abridged and none of them have twigged the "I said a cab" joke...

I'm *not* defending the shot.

I just wish people wouldn't act as if it's indicative of the final product and would critique it for what it is.

All that being said:

No, it doesn't look good. It's sterile and awkward, and subsequently looks cheap and goofy.

But we should critique/mock/joke about it *in the correct context.*

Oftentimes, this is because the promotional team doesn't have access to finished footage, often because post-production hasn't started/progressed that far.

So they just take some bog-standard pictures of the characters posing, maybe do a little post-processing/clean up, and that's that.

I don't think it's good or helpful in terms of promoting the show, but it doesn't reflect on the artistry of the actual production team, nor the final product, so I wouldn't say that's "worse."

It's just kind of annoying.

A healthy film industry makes sleazy movies. Weird, borderline kink films are like coal mine canaries- they're offensive, often deeply personal, and a foil to the clean blandness of big budget propaganda. A lack of bizarre "not to everyone's taste" films is an indicator of a sickly studio ecosystem.

They're usually not taken by the production team, but by someone assigned by the parent company to get promotional shots.

They're just there to get the "gist" of it so they can give people an idea of what to expect re: costumes, casting, etc.

Most of the time, it's *not* the creative team putting these together. It's the parent company coming in and taking some promotional pictures.

This is a promotional shot. It's not a screenshot from the show itself.

It's a separate camera, without color grading, at a camera angle that isn't in the show. It's not indicative of the final product.

DUDE IT IS.

But people clowning on this as if its representative of the final product is frustrating to see.

A lot of people are acting as if this is a screenshot from the episode proper, when it's obviously *not.*

It's a promotional shot, without proper color grading, likely taken by a completely different camera than what they're filming with, at an angle that won't be in the show.
