The term for that is White supremacy and any coverage of Reform that does not include that term is complicit in whitewashing White supremacy. Sometimes things really are that simple.

If the Palestine Action hunger strikers die - which they could do at any moment, as they are now very close to the end - it will be the government that killed them. Todayβs column explains why. Please share, and write urgently to your MP.

There has been a relentless, cacophonous campaign to stigmatise pro-Palestinian activists. But the inconvenient truth is that these are just ordinary people of good conscience who see the horrors of Gaza and simply cannot bear to stand by and do nothing.

All of this is fascism. And not early stage either. This is the embedding of the Right Wing Daily Mail press consensus as the absolutely unshakable common sense of the UK state. Made possible because the "left wing" party has abdicated any kind of moral position on it.

Extremely thorough analysis of the BBC's distorted coverage of Israel's genocide in Gaza by @trillingual.bsky.social
The piece is very well sourced, fair, nuanced, sympathetic to institutional pressures on the BBC - making the verdict on its biased output all the more damning.
To explain briefly: at the moment people successful in their asylum claims get permission to stay in the UK for 5 years, then have to apply for permanent residency. At that point a review of their status is done, but itβs rare not to succeed at that point unless theyβve committed an offence 1/

Erm, no. No this policy does not need "clarification". It needs condemnation. They have been pretty clear what they want, the mass deportation of people living and working here, families ripped apart, and xenophobia and racism embedded further as government policy

Palestinians will feel understandable relief. The West should feel nothing but shame. Gaza has been obliterated. The territory rendered uninhabitable. Tens of thousands murdered in cold blood. The entire population subjected to starvation tactics. And now, colonial subjugation under Trump and Blair
09.10.2025 07:40 β π 244 π 98 π¬ 3 π 4Irony being that the entire Farage-isation of British politics is built on the phenomenon of white right-wingers who don't want to "integrate" with the reality of multi-ethnic Britain, don't want to accept migrants as their fellow citizens, and don't want people of colour moving into their street.
07.10.2025 09:16 β π 89 π 35 π¬ 1 π 1I mean it wasn't founded for this, that's the thing liberal institutions *tell themselves* to smooth over their actual role of doing propaganda for the state. In addition to basically serving as genocide apologia - because this is what this is, and make no mistakes - they also put it under the topic of 'Israel and Antisemitism.' They believe that fighting antisemitism means denying a genocide, and this makes everything more dangerous for Jews as well.

Astonishing that this isn't being talked about more: the UK is still trading huge volumes of goods with Israel. Where are the sanctions? Non-existent. At this rate, Gaza will be completely destroyed before the UK Govt suspends trade. Via Private
Guys, every new bomb and bullet America sends Israel for use on Gazans is flown in via the British military base on Cyprus, the one that Sir Keir visited at Christmas and gave a speech on TV saying he appreciated all the hard work the lads were doing there, work that he couldnβt talk about openly.

"controversial or unpopular opinions" is such a stupid phrase to include in a piece of legislation relating to academic free speech. because it encompasses both "hard truths that people don't want to accept" and "things that have in fact been proven incorrect numerous times by research".
