One can often tell who to take seriously on class, labor, and the moral choices involved in employment by how they talk about "janitors" - Whether as people with regular fucking jobs, or as a nigh-unknowable, oppressed subclass of Morlock, cursed and bound to our carts.

I AM more into Karlach and Shadowheart, irl, but the Durge/Astarion romance IS as well-written as everyone said.

Also, Astarion is a bi gal's dream in that nobody will ever say a SINGLE fucking word about you "Bringing your straight boyfriend."

I think this advice forgets how many people are never going to DO another playthrough, so hearing "don't do Durge first" means they do TAV, go "that was a cool ass game," never play Durge, and *never get the better game!* #bg3

A charming, flamboyant morally suspect mercenary and lore collector? Think Jarlaxle plus Volo if Volo was a real bard and actually knew shit. And my thought was with her brain scrambled, frapped, and tadpoled, she sort of... Settled on that childhood wish blueprint.

Ok so the way i picture it she eventually reveled in being daddy's perfect little omnicidal princess, but she's always been a lore bard nerd who wants to collect and catalog all the songs and stories, particularly the nasty ones. And as a little kid I think she dreamed of being... NOT a hero, but

Dark Urge /Astarion has some of the best romance path scenes I've ever played, though, and you don't get a crucial one at all if you're not durge!

I spent a long time thinking that the Dark Urge was just a "sometimes you kill people" mode, but I've recently learned that there's a lot more to it than that... Looks like I need to study my list of potential characters and see who'll benefit most from a bit of extra blood-thirsting!

It's a very rich game-long story, and there are wonderfully written NPC interactions with party members and others you just don't get otherwise!
