It was a fantastic film. Deserves all the accolades. If the intention was to build a seething rage in all women who had dads who only wanted to dad when it felt good to them, well done.

If you are in charge of cooking and cleaning and you have a rat infestation that’s kinda on you. Talk to the millions of women in your shoes not bitching about their spouses and managing to keep the rats outside.

And then maybe we can remember we are still celebrating. I got a lot of nods and smiles. It felt real.

I am always relieved when authenticity works. These days it rarely fails.

It’s all great stuff, but the pace has been relentless. I gave lots of thanks and then asked us all to take a big breath for this last stretch, acknowledge we will miss details and make mistakes, that we treat each other with grace and a bit of humour

My churches have had a lot of great celebrations recently and they have done the work for all of them. Once upon a time I would have been a cheerleader congratulating us on all the happenings.

On Sunday, though, I instead acknowledged the fatigue.

To me it seems the only question that needs answering is what is the procedure for a high risk cis-woman offender and do that. No need to put a trans woman in a men’s facility just because she is high risk.

I’d say that’s a wide description of Catholics in general. I don’t think any of our churches can claim to be free of Christian nationalism.

Who articulates where faith belongs in the public square? Is it not present in the public square? As long as people of faith are there faith is present?

Definitely the imagery but I don’t think they categorize it the same way. But yes. Definitely Christian nationalism. Still. Carney needs to learn a little nuance when talking about Canadian identity.

Ok this is weird.
1. I don’t think the administration talks about Christian Nationalism, or don’t call it that. That’s what liberals call the position of the administration.
2. Obviously it’s not Canadian nationalism because it’s not Canadian.

I did a very unofficial search a couple of years ago of US stats and figured out that I, a white woman, am a thousand times more likely to be shot and killed by a cop than a cop does of being shot and killed on the job.

And the Doctor and his companion were like, “Yeah. Proper thing.”

There is a great episode in the last season of Doctor Who where a character on another planet is deaf and the Doctor and his companion don’t sign and the other characters aliens, who are not deaf, ask, “What do you mean you don’t sign? It’s the law !”

I have to google things I used to just know, like when is Transfiguration. Also. Communion is completely different since COVID lockdowns and every church does it differently!
