I think many are living totally outside the news. They avoid it not because they've learned it's depressing but bc they just aren't interested. Their lives are "working" for them, so they think the status quo will continue.
Until THEIR lives are disrupted, they'll ignore the news.

...whatever their reasons, we don't need all 89 million to change their minds. We just need enough to realize they matter and that we need their involvement in order to 1) overthrow Trump and his fascist regime, and 2) demand and enact the changes needed to defend our planet's and nation's future.

GREAT points! Thank you for raising them! I don't know either. I assume, rightly or wrongly, that whoever they are they're badly disillusioned, skeptical, and even cynical about our political system not being corrupt. That's why I didn't vote for 42 years between 1978 and 2020. However...

A similar "Because You Matter" movement is needed to awaken the 90 million Americans who skipped the last elections.

Thank you, Alison! I only lately realized that we'll win or lose this war depending solely on whether enough of the 36% of us who chose not to vote can be stirred from their apathy or complacency to care & act. To 'wake them up' should be the primary focus of pro-democracy forces.

Misogyny is probably the biggest part of it. Trump has never won against a man.

In my heart, I believe that Kamala lost bc she’s a Black woman. The campaign made some grievous errors, but a white male candidate would have survived. I think about that about once every hour these days. All of this hell visited on us, it’s bc of that original sin.

Rising unemployment, rising prices, rising hate, rising attacks on the rule of law. Great job, Donnie.
