But even if I did not use Octopus at 7.5p per kWh . . if I had the average UK home unit price of 22.36p per kWh . . it would STILL only be £17.23 to fill my tank for 311 miles of range. Unless you drive a moped, I suggest home charging with ANY unit price will save money.

I drive an ID4. I know *EXACTLY* how long it takes. Hint: many fewer hours than I sleep each night. And as for cost . . . "filling" my tank (if empty) at night, at home, costs £5.78 for 311 miles of range. Care to compare that to filling your ICE tank?

And by ignoring "slow home chargers" . . . that *IS* the cheery picking. Most EV owners today charge their cars 90%+ at home. This post frames the question of ICE vs. EV by ignoring the both the cheapest AND most frequent way EV drivers charge. Calling your post disingenuous is being polite.

I understand the desire to bash Labour. But this level of cheery-picking statistics and framing the narrative is worth of BBC Scotland when covering the SNP. You say 8 kWh is too slow for home charging? Tell us, how fast is your home petrol pump - to be a fair comparison???
