Uk rich in routine data, & the potential to harness this existing information to achieve public benefit is vast..just because data exist does not mean that repurposing is simple or rapid ." We linked 700+ care home residents' data with their NHS records. Here's the learning!

π Almost a million unpaid carers are missing from GP records
π Where a carer lives, and their ethnicity, affects the likelihood that they will be identified by general practice

A Palestinian girl cries out for food with her hands held out at a charity kitchen amid the famine in Gaza. She is surrounded by other young, anguished children. This photo was taken on Thurs July 11, 2025 after at least 10 children were killed by an Israeli strike as they queued outside a medical point. More Palestinians have now been killed just waiting for food than the number of victims killed in the Hamas terrorist attack of October 7. Photograph credit is to Ebrahim Hajjaj of Reuters
Gaza is now officially in IPC Phase 5, the final stage of hunger. Designated as 'catastrophe'.
A further 67 of the starving were killed by IDF soldiers yesterday trying to access food. Witnesses say the victims had their hands held in the air.
One day, everyone will have always been against this.
Today I heard an MP, on @LBC, say #water nationalisation doesn't work as Scotland has worse water pollution than England. This is a complete lie. See figure below,

Disgraceful. England, fight for nationalisation.
We ask so much of residential care workers, and they rise to that challenge every day, yet they are nearly twice as likely to live in poverty as the average UK worker.

A picture of the title and abstract of the research paper: All sizzle, no steak: AI tools are not able to act as credible knowledge brokers by summarising evidence in mathematics education Lucy Rycroft-Smith, Darren Macey University of Cambridge Current discourse around AI (artificial intelligence) tools suggest they can offer users quick access to research evidence, with the goal of improving our practice and policies in mathematics education. However, recent evaluations suggest that AI often falls short of human capabilities in accurately summarising complex information, raising questions about trust, credibility, and reliability. In this paper, we investigate whether AI tools are able to successfully perform the educational knowledge brokering function of finding, selecting, and summarising research with implications for practitioners. In particular, we ask if AI tools are able to find research papers that actually exist (accuracy), are relevant to the question (relevancy) and are able to interpret findings into useful, actionable implications for practitioners (applicability). We find that generally they are not, and even when they are, they do so in a way that is so inconsistent as to be a serious threat to credibility. Keywords: artificial intelligence; AI; knowledge brokering; large language models; mathematics education
