I had heard of number girl before, but it wasn't until I learned the guitarist in one of my favorite bands PEDRO was from number girl did I finally listen to them (and now love them)

I actually think being destructive is probably why the levels aren’t super bespoke and distinct as a mario level to begin with. Which is totally understandable, but is still what it is.

I stopped using the bananzas as much as I could after I realized I didn’t even see the first couple boss fights so fortunately I avoided wearing out their welcome

Lagoon layer is pretty good on both the music and visuals front. I’ll definitely remember the giant pile of pleasantly colored shipping containers at the very least.

That might be true but I went out of my way to pay attention to each level’s song so in my case that doesn’t apply unfortunately

Just to clarify, I think all the levels are super fun to play in! lol but yeah I bet making everything destructive means you gotta sacrifice some bespoke-ness to set design

I liked the weirder ones like the divide or final layer (no spoilers in case someone else is reading), but I couldn’t tell you a single thing about the snow layer other than zebras and you turf surf for a moment at the beginning and I just played it

They’re fine! None of the songs are bad, just exactly what they need to be. They get stuck in your head, but I think that’s more because they play so much lol
