It seems that once every decade or so, the planets align and it sends the one or more of the French manufacturers crazy. In a really good way. And it seems that Renault are back there again. Really enjoying what they’re doing at the moment.

I think a lot of brands live with a difference between the view of the masses and the view of the enthusiasts. Back in the day, it was a “yuppie” brand as well as an enthusiasts car of choice.

Factoid: A nice ad for a good car & a reminder that buyers of small family cars had a range of great FWD alternatives to pick back in the early-mid ‘70’s.

The real Q back then was whether to choose this or an Alfasud…
