To see the lie. The poverty line & the federal minimum wage is so low you can’t afford a place to live. If you need to be mad at someone, take it out on the corporations that rake in billions in profits, yet fail to pay workers a living wage. The people who receive benefits NEED them to survive. +

But what does it matter if they get benefits? People are not being paid a living wage no matter what country they come from. The people of the US have been robbed by the oligarchs for years and they want us to believe it is the fault of the poorest people in our country. It doesn’t take a genius +

California may have benefits beyond what is the Federal standard. I have only worked in two states. Federally funded benefits are for citizens, permanent residents & refugees. This includes Medicaid, SNAP, & child care. I don’t know about housing. Birth right citizens can get benefits.

Kansas has been losing hospitals and ER’s at an alarming rate over the last 6-7 years. Medical conglomerates come in and buy a local hospital. Then leave in a couple of years. Our town spent millions on a new building, & when the conglomerate left, they tied up the building so it couldn’t be used.

Worked in Social Services for years. They don’t get benefits.

ICE is acting illegally by not providing ID, warrants, wearing masks to hide their faces, and grabbing people without explanation or giving them their destination. That is against the law. It is action designed to instill terror in people. Terrorism is against the law. Kidnapping is against the law.

60% of the people in nursing facilities, hospice, rehab facilities, and home care are on Medicaid. What will happen to them? Will they put them on the street if no one picks them up? And with 60% of the clients gone, how will the people who give them care make a living?
