I finished the main story of Donkey Kong Bananza, and boy, was it a wild ride. Even factoring in Expedition 33, I’d be hard-pressed to find a stronger contender for Game of the Year 2025.

All this talk of censorship on the internet reminds me of how movies were treated before the MPA or video games before the ESRB. Ultimately, the censorship laws proved to be impossible to enforce, so instead, they made content rating systems.

Yes. For a time, it convinced me to peg T-rex as my favorite dinosaur. Not so much anymore.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a paleontologist when I grew up. Dinosaurs and all that. My favorite dinosaur was--and recently is once again--Triceratops, normally a peaceful grazer content to munch on ferns and chill with its friends and family, but a mighty, ferocious warrior when provoked.

With Shark Week coming up next week, I recently revisited Jaws, the original summer blockbuster. It reminded me of what Peter Benchley would later say about the novel upon which it was based: "If I had known then what I know now about sharks, I wouldn't have been able to write Jaws."

Can't wait to hear you there.

I've always felt that the expression, "double-edged weapon", is a bit misused. In real life, a double-edged sword is actually not much--if any--more dangerous to the user than a single-edged one. Instead, it's more difficult to make and maintain in exchange for offering more attack options.
