I'm in the Guardian today, writing about the question of overdiagnosis of mental illness. I argue we need to stop seeing this as a binary yes/no question - is overdiagnosis happening or is the increase real? - and acknowledge that multiple things can be happening at once

I’m also looking forward to contributing to the postgraduate courses at Anna Freud and supporting the training of the next generation of clinicians and researchers 🧠📚

I’m thrilled to be starting as a Lecturer in Child and Adolescent Mental Health across the UCL-Anna Freud partnership.

I’m grateful to be able to continue my research into identifying risk factors for mental health problems, as well as testing new interventions to prevent their onset and worsening.

We think these findings highlight the bidirectional links between social relationships and emotion processing for conferring risk for mental health problems in adolescence. They might also be used to identify active ingredients for future transdiagnostic interventions

The profiles were also associated with mental health symptoms that were not restricted to traditional diagnostic boundaries
