Hanging out with some ducks on the Norfolk broads once, having a boarder duck conversation, and couldn’t recall the word ‘Mandarin’ so googled ‘fancy mallard’ and it worked. I now almost exclusively use the time Fancy Mallard. Don’t @ me.

When mothers admitted their children to the London Foundling Hospital, they often left tokens. Sometimes, just a cut of the child's clothing, as in this case. This child was reclaimed by its mother in 1760. Seeing the fabric in the archive this week was incredible.

Usually on Christmas Eve I’m hosting family because we’re Swedish, but due to *reasons* this year I’m not, and today I have;
Had my hair cut
Had brunch
Bought myself nice flowers
Got quite tipsy in the pub
Had a drive thru dinner

GOT INTO A FRESHLY MADE BED

What a time to be alive.

The kid has settled into her new school and is happy again, and she CANNOT STOP READING.

I brought the Christmas tree in from the garden, to let the branches settle before decorating it tomorrow

And… the fire is lit

Had a small procedure on Saturday, and I’m thrilled that it’s done and dusted, but also I do feel like this snake that has been trampled by a deer.

Genuinely saved me, I was having a rough time generally and he made me feel less terrible. I’d never have seen as much Shakespeare as I have if it wasn’t for him. I mean, a fair bit for a normal person, you know? Kiddo is getting 3 Shakespeare graphic novels for Christmas so the legacy continues.
