One of a precious few revivals (see also The Conners, Party Down, Twin Peaks: The Return) that still felt vital when we returned to these characters after so much time away.

This is good news and I'm pleased, but I'm also intrigued by how many of these rebooted animated shows, even the ones that are qualitatively successful, somehow just become background noise after the excitement of their initial resurrections. I call it The "American Dad" Effect.
