I’ve learned an important lesson.

It doesn’t matter how much time you take reflecting and analyzing, it doesn’t matter how much slack you give for growth and improvement, it doesn’t matter how measured you are in speaking up.

Someone will always criticize you, you can never be a perfect victim.

Realizing there are so many beautiful and wonderful people in the world who deserve my attention and time helps me focus less on those who never appreciated either. 🖤

I think a definitive sign I’m with healthier partners these days is I’ll ask for reassurance based on critique or abuse I’ve experienced in the past, and the response is consistently shock or befuddlement accompanied by providing reassurance.

I can’t believe I need to say this in the year of our lord 2025, but the time to renegotiate boundaries is not when someone is impaired or in a vulnerable position. Consent cannot be given in these instances. Asking to, or acting on crossing those boundaries in these circumstances is predatory.

NGL, I’m kind of vibing with the idea of only going to small cons in the area, like some sort of mysterious cosplay cryptid.

I enjoy being able to meet new people and have fun. Larger cons only ever felt like a cosplay display session for me, and I much prefer having fun with cool people. 🖤

Immediately after getting home from Portcon I’m already planning for AAC.

And not a moment too soon… I’m feeling my confidence come back and remembering exactly who I am. 🖤

Oh boy, less than a week to Portcon. 🫠

In mostly all packed and ready to go, just a few toiletries waiting until the day of. I’m a solid mixture of nerves and excitement, and hopefully I don’t embarrass myself too too badly.

I’m sorry you’re also going through health issues! Hopefully you’re ok, and if you need to talk I’m happy to lend an ear of support. I agree. I think we’re taught to grin and bear it rather than talk about what we’re going through. I think there’s camaraderie in shared experience and/or support.

I appreciate you saying so. I feel bad complaining because I’m very privileged to have the means to pursue diagnosis and treatment. I’ve just been managing various health issues since October 2023 and I’d like a little break without something new coming along. 😅 Thank you again for your kindness.

I’m tired of new medical issues being discovered every year.

I’m glad I’m on the path to treatment, but the symptoms are getting progressively worse. I know that’s expected, typically im good at finding the silver lining, but I don’t like the exhaustion I feel constantly from being sick.

Around this time last year I remember discussing going to cons again with my then partner, and although that relationship imploded my plans to return to cons did not.

One of my partners introduced me to a character that inspired me to get back in the pool, and I’m so excited to be back at it. 🖤

The con crunch is mighty! But I can see the finish line!

Just noticing a lot of folks who didn’t seem bothered by January 6th suddenly have a lot to say about protesting.

I don’t agree with my tax dollars being used to send the American military in against the citizens they’re meant to protect.

All I’ve seen is initial violence against peaceful protestors, and the peaceful protestors becoming less peaceful the more violence is used against them.
