Its the reason people say inflammatory stuff on social media like "Radiant Citadel is fantasy Israel"

You didn't make a blanket condemnation, but were critical of me saying it seems unfair to some of the contributors

The critique of exposure has to do with exposure not being a replacement for payment with money in internships or low paying jobs. Influencer celebrity and the reach of platforms are unfortunately central to the modern technological attention economy...

The final point, the drops in the pool analogy. The pool is Radiant Citadel and the drops are different authors whose works have been collected in the book. Some are imperialists, but not all, and so they shouldn't all be condemned via association if they didnt double down defending them

Second point, what I mean by professional break through is that people have a chance to get their name out to a point of higher visibility, where they can develop their resumes and name recognition to help them make other games that are not necessarily D&D, which many have done

To the first point, it seems like you are arguing against oppressed people coming together to build power because that is similar to a Marvel Avengers fantasy. It makes sense on some level, but is also a self sabotaging view. People have to come together to overcome their atomization...

So it still does feel unfair to some of Radiant Citadels 50+ contributors who come from the third world, to who this was a massive opportunity to break into the profession. Its the idea that a few drops taint the whole pool that frustrates me

Oh I remember this now! One of the contributors was a US army strategist and they all doubled down on defending him. I still think the critiques here are not so comparable, cultural appropriation vs idpol washing of imperialism. Actually its maybe worse??

The project was conceived by Ajit George, a writer on Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft (2021), who pitched it to Jeremy Crawford, D&D's Lead Rules Designer, and Wes Schneider, a Senior Game Designer. Im not necessarily defending a 5e product, but the big difference is that Radiant Citadel was written by people from the countries being featured. They are very different situations. Crazy that you would equate them

Yeah the whole mechanics are evil thing is silly, and the gist of this example "adjucate hiding by saying something that most adds to the tension of the game, ie. a success with a complication" can be seen as a mechanic or a procedure. Were mincing definitions over cultural identities at that point

The play example you quote doesn't show a failure, it shows a success with a complication

Sometime ago I had to draw Ox-Head and Horse-Face, a couple of thugs of the chinese underworld, for @proton31.bsky.social Roguelike Megadungeon, and now I find them in the firts book I'm lettering for a new publisher... Maybe it is some kind of sign... (The comic book is Remy Lai's Ghost Book)
