I stayed up waaaaay too late writing.

Those of us who are SA survivors are used to the mass shrug in response to even the most overt evidence of horrific behavior. Epstein's crimes and the complicity of many influential figures involved have been known for decades (’05 to be exact). It's never mustered much interest or consequence.

Going on a trip this weekend with some friends. I’m still trying to figure out what clothes to pack.

There are always going to be people who, sincere or otherwise, want all art to conform to their controlling bland "manager policing their workers' bodily autonomy" perspective.

And it's important to shut those people out in the cold and create art of wild indulgence and freako obsessions 🤘

I’m Harper and I write about the history of the city.

Not even close. I actually write dark romance and fantasy and horror that also tends to have some romance or at least a love story.

This is the look I get when her bug bowl is empty.

I’m struggling today. Not sure what it is exactly, maybe because I’m not feeling well physically (stomach problems), but it’s definitely a trauma day as well and things just feel so heavy.
I feel like my head is somewhat better after TMS, but my body still holds so much pain from so much betrayal.

I should be writing, but I’m so tired.

Her lunch got clever and she couldn’t figure out how to get it. Had to get it off and pop it back in her dish for her.

The amount of times I got in trouble with my dad for busting out laughing when he started yelling at me as a kid/teen 🙃
Laughter was the prelude to tears and how my body venting the emotion of "I am extremely uncomfortable, cornered, and don't know what to do"

A garlic aioli-scented book sounds like something a clever hunter would use to expose a vampire during a gift exchange. 🤣

I guess it depends on what you think equates to that with a 135 yr vamp who’s trying to pass for a human in their 30s. He enjoys needling people, flirts shamelessly, and even takes “candid photos” just to rile the LI, but he also has historical awareness, is patient, and knows when to be serious. 🤔

I do like to write children in horror (love the play of a childs mind/imagination) but most stories are with 20-40 yo.
Then in Dirt You Shall Become there's Susanne. A totally-not-bitter-or-resentful lady who accidentally stabs her husband of 50 yrs with her sewing scissors.

I don’t think a character has ever spoken on it out loud, but I think narration has at times. I think on some level my stories speak to the fear that trauma won’t be resolved until death.

A lot of the older characters in my books tend to be antagonistic when the parent of an MC or kindly if a grandparent. Oldest MC in a WIP is a 135 year old vampire, but I’m not sure if that counts since they don’t look their age. 😅
